SCA renews partnership with French Red Cross to distribute 600,000 hygiene kits by 2017.

SCA in France has announced that it has renewed its partnership with the French Red Cross. SCA France has worked with the organization on this program since 2011. The partnership involves the distributing of hygiene kits to homeless people in France. A renewal of the contract was signed for the coming three years and with that, about 600,000 more hygiene kits are planned to be distributed by 2017. Entirely financed by SCA, the specific kits for men and for women include hygiene products for a period of three days: a tooth brush, toothpaste, Nana sanitary towels, shower gel, shampoo, Lotus handkerchiefs, moisturizing lotion, a hairbrush, condoms, shaving gel and razors. An information guide with hygiene advice in four languages is also included. According to SCA, the kits are aimed at improving general health, helping to restore self-esteem, dignity and social integration. They are also a real support for the French Red Cross volunteers to engage in a true and positive dialogue regarding hygiene and health, and it is also a way to direct the recipients to hygiene points, showers, help and medical centers. “We did not engage with SCA just by chance. We share common values and objectives: those that address basic human needs,” says Annie Burlot-Bourdil, French Red Cross acting CEO. “Bringing access to hygiene to those who are in a precarious situation is a major area of development for the French Red Cross.” “As a global responsible player and leader in the French hygiene market, the ’hygiene for all concept’ is at the heart of our concerns. This means that nobody, whatever their sex, age, social conditions or living place, should have to experience inadequate hygiene conditions. With this partnership, the idea is not to do business, it is a question of corporate social responsibility,” says Marc Sanchez, chairman of SCA France. “I am proud that all SCA staff in France support this project and are more and more engaged in it.”
